Fated Night was a lovely experience! Custom visuals like the park CG and the UI are amazing, and the mystery between Norah and the protagonist makes you want to discover more, there's definitely something going on between the two from looking through the narrative. The first choice could be considered a bad ending, but with the second choice, if the game has more to it then that choice continues the experience. Overall a lovely little scenario! <3

A lovely game that left me wishing for more, I have so many questions that I need answered!

Also, the fact that you did most of the assets is so impressive, everything is SO gorgeous! I especially like the UI!

I was wondering, do you have any plans for the future? But either way, awesome work <3

Gosh everything is so well put together, the sound effects, the music, the very talented Onyx Volcan! The visuals were just so scrum dilly umptious, and the story (I made the right choice the first time around, who could leave poor Norah out in the cold ;_;?) and going back to leave her felt bad, even worse when the menu changed....

You've definitely open the door's to a continuation if that's ever something you want to do, but regardless it stands so well on its own. It's sheer talent to tell such a gripping narrative in such a short amount a time, and to fill it with things to heighten the experience. 10/10 would play again.

Hey! I played it a few days ago and I wanted to collect my thoughts before commenting!

So, first and foremost: it was beautiful! The voice-acting, the art, the GUI, wow!!! I think I don't have the right words: but the eyes and ears would say it all!

Also, regarding the story... I really felt like I was talking with Norah, in the chill air of the night. I have to admit I didn't fully understand the story, but I had theories in mind (going as crazy as "Norah is Ashe from the future"... not sure it makes much sense, but that's what I had in mind)!! But I did enjoy the ambiguity... It was foggy, like amnesia or the night, in the end...

So, congrats for a first game! I would never have guessed it if it weren't written on this page! It was so good!!! I'm looking forward to more of your work!!!

Hiya! Thank you so much for taking your time playing "Fated Night", enjoying it and leaving a review! It really means a lot! 💛

About the story.. the word-count restriction really.. restricted me, haha. I wanted to go into way more detail and wanted to add a game play mechanic to it, but in the end it would have overshot the scope of the jam. ;;

But maybe in the near future, there will be more of Noah and [Ashe] and maybe your questions might get answers! ☺️ (And maybe Matt will have is debut :D)

Maybe Norah really is Ashe from the future, who knows! (Very unlikely but I don't want to destroy your head canon - for now xD)

I know this is your first VN, but don't take options away from players at the start screen. The text speed by default was soooo slow! Thankfully, you let me get to the options after a bit, but first impressions mean so much!

As for the story, it was ok! Clearly it's the beginning of something, but I'm not quite sure if it really grabbed me. The presentation though was very nice! UI was clean, art was cute, and the background was spooky (although it looks too well maintained to be a rundown playground!).

I‘m sorry to hear that my entry might not have been your cup of tea.

In regards to the options screen: I opted out to include in in the title because I thought this was going to be a short play-through and added it to the quick menu of the textbox. But I will keep this in mind for future projects!

Regardless, thank you so much for giving „Fated Night“ a chance and liking the artwork! 💛

You did a wonderful job and I'd totally love to see another visual novel from you one day!

Thank you so much!! 💛 I will take your advises to good use 💛💛

Congratulations on releasing your first game! It's so pretty and polished, and I loved the atmosphere ( ´ ▽ ` )

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed this little Visual Novel! 💛

I did the web version and there were no visuals. Were there supposed to be? I see that there are visuals in two of the pictures on the side.

Hello! Thank you for your message! That’s strange, because the web version seems to be playable for me and a few other people.. Was there a title screen and text visible? Where you able to see the name selection screen and the centered message box with black background?  If you were, that’s the introduction and after that there should be visuals appearing. (The introduction is a bit longer.) If nothing is appearing at all / no title screen etc. it might have to do with your brpwser, maybe reload the page.

I was able to play the whole thing, it just had no visuals once I hit start.

But I just tried it again on a different computer and it worked so maybe the first one wasn't advanced enough or something? It was a bit older. But there wasn't an error message and the rest of it went fine.

That's great to hear, that you were able to fix it! 💛

Very polished yeah, UI elements are definitely sharp.
The only "problem" IS THAT IT IS SO SHORT WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

What happened? WHAT HAPPENS???

also wait what I restarted the game and it has voice acting?????? How did I even miss that?

The writing IS pretty good, but ya know, it's so short I can't be sure; I will definitely be on the lookout for any other VNs you produce. Good luck!

Ahhh thank you so much!! I’m really excited to see that you liked my O2A2 entry! 💛 Yes, it was a bit short and I usually write way longer stories (a big one is currently in the process).

And I hope you’ll like my future projects as well! 🥰

This is such a charming VN! The UI in particular is really nice; I love how cohesive the colours are!
For a first project, you did a really good job putting it together. Thank you very much for sharing!

Oh, this was incredibly lovely!! What a beautiful vibe and poignant little story ahhhhh. Everything about this was so polished???? It felt very delicate somehow. Norah's sprite was gorgeous and so wonderfully done! I loved her expressions and all the detail on her outfit. AND THE BG??? HELLO???? Just ridiculously beautiful. I mildly wanted to jump into it and join Norah for a little while in the park. It just has this wonderful ambience to it that feels both isolating but also nostalgic, between the intricate detail and the soft lighting.

The UI, too?? Guh. Beautiful. Literally everything about this is beautiful. And I like how it feels like this little snapshot of a larger story. I chose the better option (ofc) first and felt like it was the start to something much larger between them. Almost like the kicking off point to something. And I really want to see more between them ahhhhh lkdajdlda. Though then I went back and chose the other option just because I Must to see all the variations and it just left me feeling so empty inside, leaving her there like that. I shall weep perhaps.

Norah's voice was so well done!! I loved how much emotion and almost,,, uncertainty? There was to the lines, which really fit Norah's story so well. GOSH I JUST REALLY WANNA KNOW MORE NOW LOL.

Really absolutely lovely. OH I LOVED HOW THE TITLE SCREEN UPDATED. Going from 1 to 2 (and then none if you choose the bad option SOB). That was such an adorable little detail! So well done -- AND FOR A FIRST GAME??? HELLO??? THIS IS LITERALLY SO POLISHED???? Love love love love! 😭💕

Oh lord, carrot! 😭 This is such a sweet and detailed review!! Thank you so much for your nice words!!

I’m so glad you like the artwork and Norah‘s little story! 💛 And yes the story was originally supposed to be bigger (cause I always think way too big but the limit kinda restricted me 😭) - so there probably will be a future VN with Norah in it again! 👀

And yes Onyx Volcan (Norah‘s voice actress) did such an amazing job voicing her! 💛

I love Norah and will DIE for her.

On a more serious note, this is a fantastic first game! From the writing down the art, I loved everything about this title. I can't wait to play more games from you! :) <3

Thank you so much! I‘m really happy that you like Norah so much!! 💛

I’m already working on another project so I hope you’ll look forward to it in the future! 💛
